bakit kaya? bago to ah.

Geek Post!

the geek
I think it's all falling into place. I've read that Robert Downer JR is making a cameo appearance in the Hulk movie, which starts Edward Norton and Liv Tyler. I've also learned that the Avengers movie is set for release in 2010, following the original story line from the marvel comics back in the 60's.

The original avengers team was made up of the Hulk, Iron Man, The Ant Man (who eventually became The Giant), and Thor. They teamed up in the hopes of defeating this villain whose name i have forgot. hmmm...was it swordman? i can't remember. damn. Hulk eventually left, because he's an unstable green buffoon, and was replaced by Captain America, whose movie will be released in 2009 as well.

In the rumors i have read over the net, there would be three avengers movie altogether. In the final one, it was said that we can expect an appearance from The Vision, and of course, Magneto's children, Quicksilver and The Scarlet Witch.

Oh i do hope that the movie will tackle about the eventual love affair between The Vision and The Scarlet Witch. That was fucked up. Moral of the Story: if your the child of one of the greatest mutant villain of all time, and if you possess powers which can alter time and space, don't go falling in love with an alien.

*sabaw*

I've also read that they're in the works of a Secret Wars movie. And i think it wouldn't be so difficult since they have already made movies, or is still in the midst of making movies, about all the heroes who were part of that story arc.

yey.

crap. hahaha. my inner geek is going weee. :D

I may be suffering from workshop hangover. just a few minutes ago, as i was buying a pack of marlboro reds at the store outside of our subdivision, i had this instinct to buy a longneck bottle of emperador as well.

and i'm craving for chicken. grilled chicken dipped in soy sauce mixed with chili and calamansi. and a cup of steamed, sticky rice showered with chicken oil. and a few pieces of chicken butt will also do.

dayum.

If a woman's rationale is to murder, if her upbringing, the culture she is surrounded with, consists of nothing but death and a unemotional attachment to it, how do i begin to explore the evil of her persona? how do i expose her beastliness? and how do i make apparent that it is a possibility for her to be enamored with someone who is actually her enemy?

There is both a need and a desire to write about what happend in the last week.

But i think it still too soon. As my criticism teacher, Dr. David Bayot might say, the emotional dusts has not settled in my conciousness. I still need to recollect my thoughts in tranquility.

Upon takeoff, as Ida and I stared off at the window of our plane, watching streams of rainwater glide and scatter through the stratosphere, we both agreed that there was a tinge of sadness, no, melancholia, at our departure.

We already miss the panelists. We miss Balay Kanilungan. We miss the dozens of chicken parts we consumed. We miss Bacolod. We miss the fellows, most especially the textmates, margie, en, charles and mitch.

There is still an overflow of emotions, and it impairs me to write. so for now, i shall leave my journal the official lexicon of the textmates. bukas na ang sentihan. hahaha. yak kadiri. :P

I need to move-out

  • Apr. 18th, 2008 at 6:21 PM

My parents finally discovered that i failed statistics. Yes, statistics. My worst enemy that has come to do algebra's bidding. And since i won't be in the city for a week, since im going to be in Bacolod, it's impossible for me to enroll myself in summer classes.

And so the argument began.

My father wanted me to quit the workshop. I think i cursed him at that point. and i think, at that moment, they have become the parents i dreaded to have. I told him that if he makes me quit the workshop, i still won't go to summer class. finally, he gave up at his futile attempts to break me off from that which i wanted to do.

i paid for my own tickets. damn.

and of, they also told me that my 4 in thesis and my nomination in the outstanding award doesn't matter to them. and my other 4 in my majors as well. yes. my dear parents, that does lots of good for my ego. It would have been much more humane if they threw my thesis out of the window and all of the papers and works ive done as a literature major.

conservative, catholic, stuck-up pricks.

yes, they did pass all their subjects. they graduated on time. but they will always be average. they will never be remembered. they will just be another pair of mindless drones trudging this reality, praising a non existent god, hoping to survive. they will never excel at anything. they will be forgotten.

they will be nothing. not even a memory. at least i wont be wasting one of my precious neurons in their name.

i, on the other hand, am not that. fuck them.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Announcement: Yes! Im still in school for the first term! hahahahaha.

Akire! hahaha. Staffer mo pa ako. :))

and new EB, expect that i'm enlisting myself as a support staffer in the next MOS.

Martin, that means beer for us.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Two days before sunday. then i'm off to Bacolod. i can't wait. In this moment, in this house, i could finally comprehend what Sartre's No Exit was all about.

fuck.

The defense of my thesis is slated for the 10th of April. That's a thursday. It'll be at the 5th floor of the yuchenco building. The time of the dreaded slaughtering will commence at 2pm.

Once it concludes, can someone play 'High' by The Cure for me? yis.

booksale is love

  • Mar. 26th, 2008 at 9:50 PM

Pao and I have always hated the booksale branch located in the middle of SM Bicutan. Apart from its unorganized stacks of magazines and books which will take you hours to scan, the titles of the books were never that good to begin with.Tthere were always those sappy love stories novels, that could possibly fall under the romance mode of Philippine Literature, and those Clive Cussler adventure novels that are categorized under escape literature by critics and even by my own professor.

But then, today, i saw three books which had altered my perception towards that diminutive bookstore.

1. Slowness-Milan Kundera
2. Birds of America-Lorrie Moore
3. The Collected Stories of Guy de Mapaussant

i bought them all for a hundred pesos each.

yeyyyyyy. :D

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

i hanged out in cerealicious today. to pass the time, and while editing my thesis, i decided to download a few songs off the net since the wi-fi there is free anyway. nagulat ako ang bilis ng putanginang connection nila. hahaha. :D

77.9 kb per second ang puta. i was able to download two movies under five hours. nyahahaha. :))

  • Mar. 25th, 2008 at 10:40 PM
the geek
for the past few months, i have devoted all my time and effort in creative writing. it has produced desirable results and accomplishments, and i am much grateful for that. but a few minutes ago, as i was staring blankly at the blank and bright monitor of my computer screen, with the intention of revising, i realized that my brain, my conciousness, the imaginative part of my cranium, is drained of all its creative juices.

what is left now is seepage. pus.

Break time.

Two weeks after my defense, i shall not be writing any fiction. i will dedicate myself to reading and watching movies, and my only form of writing would be here in my cursed blog or a few writing exercises so as to avoid stagnation.

*bow*

- During the Bisita Iglesia, pretend to pray the Way of the Cross. or do what i did. i observed the architecture and details of the churches we visited and rendered them into words and paragraphs in my consciousness. this was my writing exercise for the day.

-Laugh at your little brother's speech impediment. (12th Thtation, Jethuth dieth on the croth. we adore you oh chrith and we praith you. becauthe by your holy croth yoy have redeemed the world.)(shit memorize ko pala yung way of the cross??)

-When you're in BF, urge your family to go to ruins and buy a DVD copy of The Ten Commandments. as they look for other dvd's to watch, get your own dvd's. (I recently procured Kurosawa's Yojimbo, Donnie Darko, the movie adaptation of The Lover, A Very Long Engangement, Across The Universe, American Gangster, and a copy of the first Nightmare on Elm Street; yey :D )

-Observe the masses clamouring for mercy and forgiveness in the face of a non-existent deity. this one make will you laugh.

-Listen to Black Sabbath, Tool, A Perfect Circle, and Nine Inch Nails, during the procession. watch out for hot devout girls.

-Leave your PC on when you go out for all those religious crap. this way, you get to download a few gb worth of songs.

-Bring Marquis De Sade and Helene Cixous. Charge your Ipod. Keep a good supply of cigarettes in your pockets.

-Once you get home, read Richard Dawkins quickly.

-Drink a beer, or do ungodly stuff, to purge yourself of all that goodness.

-Worry about your thesis, revisions, and *gasp* statistics.

there was once a time when i tried to write about led zeppelin much in the manner of how Cameron Crowe wrote about them when he was young. truth be told, i failed at actually mapping out the euphoria and catharsis they have tattooed on my conciousness. and looking at all the stories i've written so far, all of the thematic content seem to resemble the tone and lyrics of their songs. they resonate their music. odd.

punchline of the month: it was cristina who introduced me to the led. :))

smack dab in the middle of a traffic jam on the paved streets of Zapote, a Lyrnyrd Skynyrd's 'Freebird' blasted through my earphones (yes, the insane guitar solo part was playing), i browsed through my calendar to check my schedule. i suddenly realized that i made a miscalculation concerning the deadline of my undergraduate thesis.

yes. last night i was panicking to the point of dementia. i had one essay to go, and i had this absurd notion that the deadline for the submission of the first draft to my mentor would be on the 17th, exactly less than 30 hours from now. in truth, it was actually set on the 24th.

tanga. hahahaha. leche.

but alas, some relief at last. :)

got this from neobie! :D

If you happen to be working on some creative writing project, fanfiction or NaNoWriMo or what have you, post one sentence (or more) from each of your current work(s) in progress in your journal. It should probably be your favorite or most intriguing sentence so far, but what you choose is entirely your discretion. Mention the title (and genre) if you like, but don't mention anything else -- this is merely to whet the general appetite for your forthcoming work(s).

-Tonight, Tonight (tentative title) (and oh this for workshop with dr. marj and the lit younglings) (andaming parenthesis parang algebra PEMDAS yak)

"Gaze at her the same way an art critic looks at a masterpiece of heavenly beauty. Commit to memory every inch of her face. Try to hold every detail in your mind as if it were palpable. Remember the brown eyes and her trimmed eyebrows. Remember her high-bridged nose. Remember her thin pink lips. Remember her fair skin. Remember the pearl earrings. Remember her slender neck, her full shoulders, and her porcelain hands. Remember her nails painted red. Remember her small breasts which you could easily cup in your hands. Remember her long legs and her stark white ankles. When you attempt to define sublimity, give all her features."

on a lighter and more melancholic note, as pao and i were riding a random jeepney along the long stretch of aspahalt known as EDSA, two ugly bafoons, who looked like freaking orcs bred by motherfucking Saruman in Orthanc, decided to point their 6 inch knives on random passengers. yes, it was the kind of bladethat could probably pierce my flabby flesh easily. good thing they were foolish enough to panic and get off the jeep. two random women were victims of theft that night. i think it was a bag and a mobile phone that the two bastards got. pao and i had nothing but pity and sympathy to them.

funny, my first instict was to guard and hold pao when i saw the knives. and strangely enough, i was able to chuck in Sadie (my beloved Ipod) inside my bag. hahahaha. i think the song playing at that exact moment was Jeff Buckley's "Everybody Here Wants You". at least it was decent song. :)

paola, my dear bestfriend, i love you. andami na nating pinagsamahan. hanggang ba naman sa bingit ng kamatayan at kawalan ay kasama pa rin kita? awwww. :)
